The highly curious issue though is the lack of OpenCL on the Mac Version. Similar to the OS X driver issue of slow technology adoption that will require a wait till 10.9 to clear up? There is some 'CUDA and those 'emerging' APIs like OpenCL' lip service on the Features tab, but there is no OpenCL explicitly listed on the spec sheet.

Ditto /Volumes/NAME_OF_MOUNTED_ISO /Volumes/NAME_OF_USB_KEY or cp -r /Volumes/NAME_OF_MOUNTED_ISO /Volumes/NAME_OF_USB_KEY to manually copy all the files (including hidden ones).

The Quadro K5000 is a new high-end graphics card from NVIDIA. The Quadro product lineup is targeted toward professional Workstation graphics and extremely high resolution multi-device displays. If your daily routine involves Maya, SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCad, medical imaging, gas, etc, with millions of polygons, gigabytes of textures - a Quadro card makes life easier (and in some cases possible at all - more on that later). For Adobe users, including Photoshop CS6 and many other programs in the CS6 lineup, they can also benefit from the improved compute performance of the NVIDIA Quadro K5000. At first, the Quadro K5000 looks similar to its sibling the Quadro 5000 (note the lack of the letter 'K' in the older card's name). There are some differences in the plastic heat sink shroud. The Quadro K5000 is also a bit longer.

After collaborating closely through a brainstorming session, we went on to write scripts, create storyboards, build props, and schedule a live-action production. We spent three days directing the shoot with a Sony F55 digital film camera, including taking over Market Street in downtown San Francisco. Every night we would run the data back to our studio for backup to our server, and start to convert the 4K RAW MXF files to HD ProRes QuickTimes using Resolve. The K5000 GPU accelerates Premiere’s realtime capabilities, allowing for more effects and layers to co-exist in realtime. Split-screens, alpha channels from AE renders, and realtime LUTs allowed us to efficiently edit our offline.

Just like previous Quadros supported SLI but not on Macs. Posted on Sep 9th 2012, 23:56.

The following article is excerpted from. Used the IBC 2012 trade show in Amsterdam to announce the for Mac, its first Quadro workstation-class graphics card for the Mac Pro since the Quadro FX 4800 was released in 2010. The Quadro K5000 for Mac is based on Nvidia's Kepler architecture and is described by the company as 'the most powerful professional-class GPU ever for the Macintosh,' which, to be fair, isn't difficult as it's the only model currently available. AMD doesn't make Mac-compatible versions of its FirePro workstation-class boards, though over the years sources at AMD have let on that they'd very much like to. However, unlike on Windows PCs, Apple controls the video drivers for all graphics card, so releasing a card requires signing a deal with Apple—something AMD (or the previous developers of the boards under the FireGL brand, Diamond Multimedia, and then ATI) and Apple haven't been able to agree on over the range's 17-year history. The Quadro K5000 features 4K display support, a new display engine that can drive up to four displays simultaneously, 4GB graphics RAM and support for OpenGL, OpenCL and Nvidia's CUDA architecture for accelerating intensive non-3D tasks such as video effects and processing (hence the announcement at broadcast exhibition IBC).
